Newsletter #2 - New prints, Palermo & a special Christmas market

Almost another month has passed. What's happened since the last newsletter?

At the end of November, I spent five days in Palermo with a friend – a fascinating, multifaceted city that showcases its southern charm but also doesn't shy away from its darker aspects. Wandering through Palermo, you experience history, a mild climate even in winter, a vibrant atmosphere in the streets, and delicious food. Of course, I had my camera with me, and despite the time of year, I managed to capture some summery scenes. These are now available as prints, like here in my photography shop.

From southern Europe to cold but festive Hesse: On the day of my return from Palermo, I went straight to the Advent event at Claire's Atelier 6zehn in Bad Nauheim. But that was just the starting point for the pop-up shop there: My Bad Nauheim calendars and Christmas postcards are available until Christmas at Burgstraße 21 (Wednesdays - Saturdays).

And now? I'm currently in the midst of preparations for a very special and exciting event just before Christmas: the Boutique Christmas Market by Frankfurt macht Kultur e. V. It will take place on the fourth weekend of Advent at Universum 34, located at Wittelsbacherallee 34 in Frankfurt.

Come by!

Boutique Christmas Market in Frankfurt

I'm incredibly excited to be a part of it – it's the first time I'll be exhibiting my art in my hometown. Even better, I'll be sharing the walls with Alexander Lis, whose abstract works had already captured my attention and admiration before we even met. I'll be showcasing not only one or two brand-new pieces created after my trip to Palermo, but also exclusive prints and (Christmas) cards. There will also be many other stalls to explore (see below) where you can pick up some last-minute Christmas gifts or treat yourself – for example, with unique, handcrafted jewelry from my friends at Zweierlei in Bad Nauheim.

I'll be sharing the walls with Alexander Lis, whose abstract works had already captured my attention and admiration before we even met. I'll be there both days (from 3 pm to 10 pm) and I'm looking forward to sharing some mulled wine with some of you and enjoying the culinary offerings.

Above you'll find the announcement for the Christmas market - and on my blog you can read my thoughts and recommendations on the Pantone Color of the Year 2026, which was recently announced. I'm also introducing a new mini-collection, available only as prints, which is unusually colorful.

I'm looking forward to the coming year, for which I already have many plans… more on that in the next newsletter. Until then, if we don't see each other before then, I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2026.

Warm regards, Mareike
