Newsletter #7 - Summer, self-doubt, and anticipation

I had actually planned to send you a newsletter every four weeks. That worked quite well for a while—until life got in the way.

The last two-plus months have been packed with appointments, personal matters, and—professionally—something people don’t like to talk about much: self-doubt.

After my first art fair, ARTMUC in Munich, I needed some time to regroup. Sometimes, a lack of expected results is enough to make you question everything—even when you know you’re on the right path. In my new blog post, I share why that period turned out to be a positive experience after all and what I learned from it.

Amidst all those thoughts, however, something new has emerged—something I’m incredibly excited about.

Together with Claire, I’m opening a showroom in Bad Nauheim this August—a space for art, fashion, and connection. Through my exhibitions, I realized how important it is not just to display original art online, but to give people the chance to experience the works at their own pace and strike up conversations. You can find out here why this place is so special to me.

And because new things were able to take shape despite all that introspection, there’s also a new print collection: "Momentum." Minimal, expressive brushstrokes meet earthy tones, deep blues, and warm reds. For now, the collection is available almost exclusively through one of my favorite partners, GoodMood.

But for now, I’m heading to Scandinavia for a few weeks. I’m looking forward to plenty of nature, new impressions, and picking up my camera again.

When I check in again in four weeks—hopefully right on time this time ;)—I’m sure I’ll have plenty to share: news about the showroom opening, my first one-on-one photography workshop, and whatever else comes to life in the meantime.

I wish you wonderful, relaxing, and—hopefully—not-too-hot summer days.

Warm regards,

Mareike
